Atec is a leading UK based technology focused distributer of specialist personal lines of insurance e.g. specialist leisure, non-standard home.

The business comprises; Ceta, a leading online focused niche personal lines insurance broker, and Arkel, a Managing General Agent (“MGA”).

Atec designs, distributes and underwrites a range of specialist home and leisure insurance products within the UK wholesale and retail personal lines market on behalf of over c. 340k policyholders, including through its proprietary “insuremy” and “compare” portals e.g. compare-caravan-insurance.co.uk.

In August 2024, UK based PE group Perwyn, acquired the business, alongside the incumbent management team and new Chairman, Matthew Donaldson (founder of Compare the Market), from UK based PE group, Kester Capital. The plan being to continue the strong organic growth in their core products, further invest in technology, continue to expand into adjacent markets and actively pursue value accretive acquisitions.

In February 2025, Penta acquired an investment interest in Atec through its investment in a vehicle managed by Perwyn.
