Torquil is a founding Partner of Penta and has been working in private equity for over 30 years. He originally started with several Scottish banks before going on to found Penta with his partners in 1999. He has played a leading role in Penta’s hospitality and leisure activity but also has significant experience in the healthcare, telecoms and business services sectors. Torquil qualified as a corporate lawyer after obtaining degrees from the Universities of St Andrews and Aberdeen. His interests include family, golf, rugby and fishing.
